Appaloosa mare Montana Blue Velvet has had her hooves trimmed by Tanja for the last 2.5 years and has successfully qualified as an endurance horse in 2008 completing all her 80km rides in boots.

EQUIPOD is an exciting new business located in Western Australia, Perth, especially since most professional barefoot trimmers only operate in the Eastern States.

We are offering a barefoot trim that varies from the standard pasture trim (as applied by conventional farriers) and has been developed by studying the hooves of wild and domesticated horses.

Barefoot trimmers and alternative farriers like Jamie Jackson, Pete Ramey, Gene Ovenic, Majorie Smith, Andrew Bowe etc. all have contributed in very different and amazing ways to a completely new understanding of the natural barefoot hoof. Scientists and veterinarians like Dr Chris Pollit (Australia) and Prof. Bob Bowker (US) are publishing new research in foot function and pathologies and help educate Equine Podiatry students worldwide.
